Women of Distinction 2019: Dina Fliss

It is Milwaukee Magazine’s pleasure to introduce this special section featuring female business owners, financial and spiritual leaders, health care professionals, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and all-around glass-ceiling breakers!

Working for a global financial company, Dina Fliss quickly became disenchanted with her high-paying (but low-reward) job. “It became apparent to me that I needed to continue this work, but I wasn’t going to be able to within that company,” she says.

In 2010, she became one of the few women in the country to launch a financial technology firm. Her background in math and physics keeps her grounded, she says. But she’s also not afraid to dig deep. “A lot of my work is psychological: Your beliefs about money were formed early in your life based a lot on emotional responses in the household. If there was low-energy drama, overcoming that can affect your current success or lack of success. Winning the money game is an inside job.”

“The one relationship that people are often out of sync with in their lives is their relationship with money.” – Dina Fliss, Founder and CEO, Global View Capital Management

Q&A With Dina Fliss

How are you a force within your community?

“I have been a student of monetary history for over 25 years and have collected an extensive library. How I bring it back to community to ultimately impact the world has been my life’s work. Being grounded in the historical rise and fall of nations over 5,000 years of monetary history and understanding what creates real wealth will entail a new paradigm to unleash wealth creation for all. By connecting with a vibrant global community of thought leaders on how to shift the energy and technology of money, one can imagine a bountiful future.”

What is your life purpose?

“To shift the energy and technology of money on the planet, to reflect and support the higher calibrated fields of human consciousness.”

A seasoned writer, and a former editor at Milwaukee Home & Fine Living, Kristine Hansen launched her wine-writing career in 2003, covering wine tourism, wine and food pairings, wine trends and quirky winemakers. Her wine-related articles have published in Wine Enthusiast, Sommelier Journal, Uncorked (an iPad-only magazine), FoodRepublic.com, CNN.com and Whole Living (a Martha Stewart publication). She's trekked through vineyards and chatted up winemakers in many regions, including Chile, Portugal, California (Napa, Sonoma and Central Coast), Canada, Oregon and France (Bordeaux and Burgundy). While picking out her favorite wine is kind of like asking which child you like best, she will admit to being a fan of Oregon Pinot Noir and even on a sub-zero winter day won't turn down a glass of zippy Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
