Responsibilities 

  • Manage implementations with financial institutional customers using waterfall methodology:
    • Create and maintain implementation project plans, including schedule / timelines, outstanding items, project risks and escalation processes.
    • Business requirement analysis for new implementations and product development
    • Draft proposals including cost and time estimates
  • Document project information, including customer-specific and standard documentation.
  • Maintain ownership of and accountability for the project schedule.
  • Monitor projects status with reports to executive management.
  • Identify and make recommendations for implementation process improvements.
  • Perform QA of different components of the product
  • Manage product development using Agile methodology to ensure continuous improvement
    • Conduct weekly internal status meetings with the development team and management
    • Manage cross functional teams in an IT setting for both Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM projects, experience with JIRA is a plus

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience with project management for enterprise software installations
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, PMP desired
  • Detail oriented and able to maintain accurate documentation
  • Good troubleshooting skills, team oriented, independent, self-starter
  • Experience in the financial services industry as a project manager / business analyst role
  • Experience managing an offshore development team in India

DCU Fintech Innovation Center seeks Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager, your primary role is to ensure that the DCU FinTech Innovation Center (the “Center”) operates effectively and efficiently. While working in unison with the Managing Director, you will be responsible for executing startup programming, event and marketing operations, inbound partnerships, and strategic initiatives. The person in this role should be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy and intuition while also working as a cooperative team member.

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who can identify, own, and execute projects and day-to-day operations. Someone who is able to juggle multiple operational duties at once and can appropriately delegate and follow projects through to completion.

This role is fundamental to the continual growth and success of the Center. The ability to quickly learn new areas of competency as the Center encounters challenges and with calmness are key. Additionally, strong project management orientation with excellent communication skills to clearly outline issues/concerns before they grow into real problems and facilitate the right stakeholders in a discussion to solve for them is a necessity.

Operations: managing the accelerator program, events, and related matters
Programming: Executing on strategic initiatives as directed by the Managing Director to bolster the rigor of the program.
Events & Partnerships: being the primary or secondary point of contact for partners and initiatives
Design & build new solutions to multi-faceted problems that do not have pre-existing solutions.
Build and own project roadmaps for the backend operations of the Center.
Work with some of the best FinTech startups and offer them unprecedented access to the program’s community of mentors and partners.

Requirements:
Prior operating experience at a high-growth company or start-up
Fintech, banking, or financial services background is preferred
At least 4 years relevant work experience
2+ years of experience in fast paced environments with a focus on business operations, project or program management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team but also to complete individual tasks on time
Very effective team collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Experience with web-based workflow and productivity tools and the potential to be a creative master of them (ex: Gapps, CRMs, IFTT, Zapier, Airtable, etc.)
Experience with social media and/or public relations is a plus
Experience with event planning and logistics is a plus
Strong academic record

Basic Requirements

  • MBA required
  • Professional experience in consulting project management, corporate innovation, or at an innovation-related company a must
  • Minimum of 7 years total professional experience
  • 3-4 years of experience in leading and managing complex strategic projects including the following critical skills:
    • Experience managing individual contributors
    • Ability to anticipate the needs of the client and propose ideas and solutions
    • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and within budget with internal and external resources
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
